Shatt Al-Arab Insurance Co is a “private shareholding
Company" established in 2005.
It is registered and subject to the Insurance Organization
Law No. 10/2005 Serial No 6
dated 22.12.2005 with a paid up capital of 750,000,000
Dinars.
The company is legally bound by the Insurance Authority
which is the body that
supervises and governs the insurance companies’ activities
in Iraq.
The company started to implement
its marketing plan in the first quarter of 2005 by offering
its insurance services and
“risk management” services for public and private
shareholding companies in addition to civil society
organizations such
as trade unions, associations, organizations and diplomatic
missions in Iraq.
The company has as well introduced itself in the region
through contacts with the Arab General Union of insurance,
the
Afro-Asian Insurance Association in the Republic of Egypt
and the Fund for the Insurance of War Risks in the Kingdom
of Bahrain. The company has succeeded in its first year at
introducing itself in the Iraqi and regional markets,thereby
building a trusted reliable name.
